Personal Bio:
I am from Sinaloa, Mexico. As one of five siblings, I grew up in a family that truly valued education and the gospel. I graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and later earned a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit work. Over the years, I've been actively involved in public schools, working alongside immigrant families and youth through nonprofit and community volunteer efforts. I enjoy improving programs and assessing their impact to better serve students and communities. I firmly believe in the transformative power of education—the key to unlocking life’s opportunities—for oneself and, through it, the ability to better serve others.
I’m grateful to support students through Multicultural Student Services because I know college can be challenging but also full of opportunity. To my students: You are here at BYU for a reason—don’t ever doubt that. I’m here as a resource and support to you.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, learning folclore, thrifting, searching for the perfect chocolate cake, and spending time with my husband, two children, and our dog, Momo.
