Personal Bio:
Moises Aguirre serves as the Director of Multicultural Student Services at Brigham Young University. He earned a Master of Social Work degree from BYU, which led him to pursue the Professional Educator Licensure Master’s Program in Counselor Education, School Counseling, and Guidance Services at Utah State University.
Prior to joining higher education, Moises spent several years in secondary education, supporting students from underrepresented communities as they navigated barriers to earning a high school diploma. Through this work, he recognized the academic and social challenges faced by marginalized students and their families and dedicated himself to bridging those gaps. He developed programs, educational initiatives, resources, and support services designed to foster both academic achievement and personal growth.
Drawing on his extensive experience, Moises has helped first-generation and low-income students successfully transition to higher education. His deep appreciation for the unique experiences and stories of the students he serves continues to inspire his commitment to advocacy, access, and student success at BYU.
In 2025, Moises completed a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Foundations from BYU. He remains committed to cultivating environments of trust, belonging, and inclusion for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Moises enjoys dancing, playing volleyball, and spending time with his family at the beach.
