Personal Bio:
Lynette grew up on a small farm in Washington State where she learned about resiliency, self-reliance, and working hard. She came to Brigham Young University (BYU) as a first-generation college student; while a student, she accepted an opportunity through her on-campus student job to work full time for the Dean of Student Life. She completed both bachelor’s and master’s degrees while working full time. Lynette knows college is sometimes overwhelming, confusing, or lonely and can also be filled with excitement, opportunity, and joy. She loves working as an advisor in Multicultural Student Services (MSS), helping students find resources and supports to assist in their BYU journey. Graduation is her favorite time of the year and she loves celebrating that achievement with her students. Lynette enjoys the arts, reading, gardening, playing the pipe organ, and exploring family history. She appreciates her French/Scottish/English and strong pioneer heritage.
