Personal Bio:

I grew up in small town in Aotearoa – New Zealand. My father is Maori (native to New Zealand) and my mother is European. My mother raised my sister and I as a single parent after my father tragically passed away when I was a child. Growing up, my mother taught me the value of loyalty, dedication, and hard work. While she was not religious herself, her example of service helped me see the value in serving others. I was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ when I was 15 and was later baptised after being taught by a set of very dedicated missionaries. The following year I then attended the Church College of New Zealand. My experience at CCNZ inspired me to serve a mission and I was called to serve in the Philippines. After my mission, I attended BYU-Hawaii where I graduated and married my wife shortly before graduating. My wife and I have since had a wonderful life together and are the parents of four daughters and a son.
