I'm a BYU student, studying Middle Eastern Studies, International Cinema, and Media Arts. My work aims to reduce stereotypes and misconceptions of the "other" through narratives which highlight the humanity and unmeasurable worth of every individual.
I grew up in several places, spending my formative Middle School and High School years in Kuwait, where we were closer to my Palestinian roots. I have 5 brothers and now two sister-in-laws, all of whom are uniquely gifted. My brother Jon's at Oxford studying Political Science. Another in New York recently left is Advertising firm to work as a music teacher. Thomas is in the DRC, Matthew in Hawaii, and Nathaniel... Well he's still spending time with me here in Utah, studying at UVU.
I love writing. It's my passion. I feel that through it you can create meaningful moments and imprint them on a paper which would have otherwise been empty. It's an incredible thought. Similarly, filmmaking and photography can capture and express meaningful moments and ideas, which I hope to incorporate in my career.
