Black History Month

Black History Month is celebrated every February in conjunction with national Black History Month. During this month, a series of programs and activities celebrating African American heritage are conducted on campus. Black History Month seeks to educate BYU and surrounding communities about African American heritage, promote inclusion and a common understanding across all cultures and enhance social and leadership development among student participants.

This year a greater emphasis will be placed on volunteer involvement and leadership development as students contribute their time and talents to creating the Black History Month program. During this time we seek to create an environment of “fellow citizenry” and understanding as the BYU community comes to together to celebrate a month of cultural richness and diversity. Website 6
