About Eagle's Eye

Eagle's Eye is the official magazine publication of Multicultural Student Services (MSS) designed to keep the multicultural alumni informed of campus activities. The magazine is produced by a student publications staff who work to develop their writing and computer skills while learning more about the cultural diversity and programming on the Brigham Young University campus.  In addition, students report on campus issues, multicultural alumni, cultural interests, and activities which lead them to a greater pride in their heritage. Eagle's Eye has been published since 1970 and is now in national circulation. 

 

Purpose

The purpose of the Eagle's Eye is to provide publication support for the department of Multicultural Student Services

Enrich, Uplift, Inspire: We value uplifting and inspirational writing. We believe that positively portraying the cultures and subjects we write about will motivate our readers and enrich their lives.

Student Development: We work not only to gain superior journalistic skills, but also to enlarge our intellect, refine our character, and deepen our testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Who we are is as important as what we know (AIMS of a BYU Education “Character Building”).

Creativity: We encourage new ways of thinking in order to have fresh writing, layout, and photography in  Eagle's Eye. We also want to be creative in solving problems and meeting any challenges that may arise.

Education: We believe in educating our readers. We're always learning ourselves and want to teach others what we learn about the subjects we cover.

Teamwork: We come together from different cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds, each personally accountable for his/her part, to produce Eagle's Eye. We strive to fulfill Christ's desire for His children to be one. 

Professionalism: We are dedicated to gaining respect by reaching  the standards expected of professional journalists. We value employees who are honest, responsible, courteous, and who demonstrate a businesslike manner in the workplace.
